What should you feed your pitbull?
Having a pit bull takes on a lot of responsibility on your part, sadly more than any other dog due to the untied states views on a pit bull, but you have to know what’s the best food for pit bulls?, pit bulls can’t just eat anything, they have to have a source of food that supports them in their growth, as all dogs do, but the different with pitbulls is they need more protein in there daily life than most dogs, which is why we’ll be going over what you should feed your pitbull, I’ll link everything to Amazon,, give you sites recommendations and so on, so lets get started
Food
Having a good source of protein in food will help build your pitbull up to become big and strong, but this is where many foods lack, so here’s a small list of dog food and human food you can give your dog that is packed with protein
Puppy Dog food
- Blue Buffalo Wilderness Dry Puppy Food
- great started for puppy pits to get them on the right track
- Orijen Puppy Grain-Free Dry Dog Food
- i love the tagline that many sites use that people say it smells like real food, its great for every puppy as it keeps a balanced approach
Adult Dog food
- Blue Buffalo Wilderness Brand High Protein Grain Free
- molly has salmon as her main protein source
- are you use honey, you can find deals on PetSmart or pets that are way cheaper than Amazon at times
- Orijen Adult Dog Grain-Free Dry Dog Food
- it has the most protein when it comes to the percentage but not all pit bulls enjoy it (Molly was completely turned off)
- Taste of the Wetlands Grain-Free Dry Dog Food
- honestly, this brand is great for pit bulls who have skin allergies or sensitive stomachs and I prefer it more when I learn a pitbull has a problem with either two
Senior Dog food
- Nutro ULTRA Senior Dry Dog Food
- honestly the best dog food for senior pits, its the perfect balance
- Honorable mention: Blue Buffalo Wilderness Rocky Mountain Recipe High Protein Grain Free, Natural Senior Dry Dog Food, Red Meat
- the same mix as Nutro but keep true to the meaning behind there “wilderness” line of products giving your dog a different taste of the wild
Real Food
- Salmon (only once a week and not a big chunk, maybe half a hand)
- Chicken breast
- A small piece of London broil cut up
- Rice
- Pork Chops
- Peanut butter
- Baby carrots
- Apple slices
- Watermelon
- Bread
- Corn
- Bananas (2-3 tiny pieces)
Snacks
Pit’s love a good snack to keep them up and going for the task at hand, or just in general and I’ve had molly try almost everything out there, so here’s a list of what actually is good for your pits for just about anything, which has a good mixture of what your dogs need.
- KONG – Easy Treat – Dog Treat Paste

For birthdays I advise you go to the dog bakery
Tiny tip: it doesn’t matter when it comes to what size you’re feeding your dog unless its a involves a bone, of course, I can get three months of snacks for a 1 pound mother hubbard bag for small dogs all for 15$
and that’s the full list of stuff you can (& honestly should) feed your upcoming beautiful pitbull, Molly has tried all of these and she sticks to salmon, I kid you not anything salmon she’ll eat, not any other fish, I tried blue buffalos fish variant food, she did not want any of it, but when salmon around or lord she was all over it, she’s pretty picky, same with me, I choose foods that only have good ingredients and good mixtures to help Molly stay on track, of course, if there’s any food or snacks you prefer comment down below!
